  • If you have come to this page searching for insulation systems for your new home click here to move to our Insulation Page for high performance cavity fill insulation systems.
  • If you are an existing homeowner looking to re-insulate or add more insulation, please continue on this page.

Re-insulation of an existing home
  • Do you have enough insulation in your attic?
  • Has the insulation in your attic settled and lost its R-value?
  • Are you losing heat through the roof because your attic insulation is not performing as it should?
  • Do you experience drafts or cold spots?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, or you are not sure of the answer, you should call us for an evaluation to have your attic re-insulated or just have more insulation added.

Once you increase your attic R-value to the recommended level for your climate, you will save on your monthly utility cost, and you will experience an increase in the overall comfort in your home.

The best way to determine if you need more insulation is to get access to the attic and inspect it for yourself.
When you inspect your attic insulation, you should have approximately 8” – 15” of blown (loose) insulation. This assumes your attic insulation is specified at R-30 or R-38.

The range is wide because the actual number of inches required will depend on the R-value specification and the particular product or insulation material used.
The result could lead to high utility bills, uncomfortable rooms, or an air conditioner system that just keeps running.

Not enough or missing insulation may not be the only reason for energy loss or uncomfortable rooms; but it can be a good place to begin your evaluation. Many times there are insulation and HVAC system issues that lead to poor energy performance and comfort issues.

We can help identify insulation needs and can provide additional diagnostics for you to assess what it will take to lower your energy bills and improve the comfort of your home.
