Homes That Save You Money
Energy Performance
Builders continuously face challenges of providing high quality homes that meet the demands of the well informed homeowner at a cost that keeps them competitive in their market segment.

Installed R-value (the value after installation) for your insulation choice is an important factor in providing long term energy performance. Each of the cavity fill alternatives we provide (cellulose, fiberglass, foam and combination systems) will meet the requirements for installed R-value.

Energy performance is more than the cavity fill insulation system you choose. We are focused on overall energy performance management for our builders. To ensure a quality and efficient installation we focus our attention on several factors:
  • High quality installations
  • Use of applied building science principles in managing the thermal envelope
  • Special attention around critical insulation areas like kneewalls, cantilevers, rim joists, overhangs, etc.
  • With ENERGY STAR® homes we ensure compliance for the insulation requirements of the Thermal-Bypass requirements
  • Through our affiliate [Builders Energy Raters], we can:
    • Implement energy performance changes
    • Perform energy audits
    • Perform energy analysis with REMrate modeling software
    • Perform 3rd party testing & verification to ensure energy compliance

A full cavity insulation system is a recognized and proven method of delivering the effective installed R-value, which will improve energy performance and reduce the cost to heat and cool for the homeowner. Builders should focus on this installation system regardless of their preferences for a particular product. We provide a cavity fill system utilizing several alternatives:
  • Spray applied cellulose
  • Spray applied fiberglass
  • Dense pack fiberglass (behind netting)
  • Dense pack cellulose (behind netting)
  • Spray foam

Our team works with our builders to offer the right insulation system designed for optimum energy efficiency and construction budget requirements. A critical component of any value added strategy is how to get the value on the “back end” with the homeowner. When using a high performance system like cavity fill, it is important the sales & marketing team are aware of how to position and sell the energy efficiency of this installation.

Our team provides training for the sales team, and can provide them tools they need to integrate cavity fill message points into their sales program.

As the building high performance market continues to develop, it will be important to have the tools available that demonstrate energy efficiency techniques. Our installation systems will stand the challenges of comparison, and will provide differentiation for the builder because the cavity fill system is inherently more effective than a traditional batt installation.
